The Illinois audited financial report was finally released last week.
One of many interesting bits of information is that the state reported $3.5 billion deficit for the primary government. The "true" deficit is probably even higher.
The good news is the state reported a $461 million surplus for the "component units."
I am still dumbfounded how the governors and legislators have claimed "balanced budgets" when the audited financial reports show a totally different story.
I will continue to look through the document to see what else is "interesting."
