MN Governor Tim Pawlenty's Budget Problem
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty’s office said on Monday that the state may need to set up a bank line of credit in order to stave off a cash crunch.

Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Tom Hanson said the credit line of up to $600 million will be established by September. He also said there are no immediate plans to the use the credit.

The budget commissioner stressed that delays in payments will likely occur, but long-term budget cuts remain unlikely or occur.

The budget outline was part of a presentation to Minnesota lawmakers, some of whom accused the Minnesota governor of neglecting the state’s budget woes.   Read more.
