Here is a copy of our report last year, ranking the 75 largest cities in the U.S. on their financial position, as measured by Truth in Accounting’s “Taxpayer Burden” metric. The top 5 ‘sunshine’ cities were Irvine (California), Washington D.C., Lincoln (Nebraska), Stockton (California), and Charlotte (North Carolina). The bottom 5 ‘sinkhole’ cities were Nashville (Tennessee), Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Honolulu (Hawaii), Chicago (Illinois), and New York City (last).
